Wake Audubon Calendar




You're invited to join Wake Audubon in the following activities:

Anderson Point Work Day - THIS SATURDAY, February 9, 9:00 AM:
Wake Audubon is joining the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department in
their
"Adopt-a-Park Program" as a Citizen Volunteer to work with Anderson Point Park.
Long-term the
project will involve monitoring a wildlife meadow of grasses and wildflowers to
encourage the
return of Woodcock and other birds to this site.  In addition,  we will be
installing Bluebird,
Purple Martin and Screech Owl nest boxes.  Please join us this Saturday to help
with the
birdhouse installations and the spot seeding of wildflowers.  Meet at the Park,
located on
Roger's Lane off Hwy. 64 East just before the Neuse River.  Contact Lena,

Monthly Meeting:
February 12, 7:30 PM - "Spineless Wonders - Insects and Spiders of the Piedmont"
will be
presented by Arthur Evans, author of An Inordinate Fondness for Beetles.  The
meeting is held in
the NC Museum of Natural Science, 11 W. Jones Street.  Contact Lena, 571-0388.

Field Trip:
February 16, Join John Connors for the 22nd Annual Woodcock Watch.  Contact
John, 755-0253.

Anderson Point Avian Adventures:
February 16, 8:30 AM - Informal birding at Anderson Point Park.  Meet at the
Park, located on
Roger's Lane off Hwy. 64 East just before the Neuse River.  Contact Melody,
362-5689.
