On May 24, I observed singing male House Finches
at two different sites in the southwestern Croatan National
Forest. The birds were in dry longleaf pine savanna habitat.
I would guess that some of you probably have observed
the birds in similar habitat--especially in the Sandhills perhaps?--
but this is new for me. Wonder if they'll displace any
native species?
