If the nest box is on a pole, simply daub about an inch of vaseline around
the pole..the same might work on a tree..or I don't know if it is available
locally, but in WI we used to paint some sticky stuff around trees to keep
insects from crawling up the trunk..you could check at a garden supply
place.
Incidentally, I use the vaseline on my hummingbird feeder to keep ants out.
Anyone have any ideas on how to discourage wasps?
