birds & crabs on npr 6/11/02

thought this piece i heard on npr was of interest:

Birds and Crabs

What do birds, crab eggs, water and sand all have in common?
They're part of a unique Delaware Bay area ecosystem that is
threatened by development. NPR's Van Williamson reports on
attempts by scientists from the Department of Natural Resources
to keep the bio-network healthy by providing horseshoe crabs
with a suitable environment to lay eggs. This, they hope, will be
a first step toward saving the ecosystem. (6:32)
