Hi folks,
Just got a call from Jeff Lewis. He says he confirmed a White-faced Ibis
feeding with Glossies in the ditch along the Old Nags Head Road, South Nags
Head on the Banks. He says the general location is near MilePost 19. He says
that he easily observed a bright border line from the bill all way around
behind the eye. The eye color was definitely red. There was some pink in the
facial skin between the eye and the bill. The traffic is bad, and the bird
flushed when people walked across the road nearby, but the bird has
apparently been there for at least two days now. Kim King-Wrenn saw the bird
yesterday (1st) and today (2nd). Hope someone gets out there soon to get good
photos. Later, and good luck, Ricky
