Bobwhite-Bluebird Thankyou

Carolina Birders:

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about Bobwhite habitat and the
Bluebird nesting boxes...speaking of which...A new pair of bluebirds are
perching on the box I have near the lake. They do not look like the pair
that raised two broods in it this Spring...they both look smaller and the
male is definitely not as bright blue. Both of them have been bathing in
the very shallow "pond" I constructed out of cement and stones. I have a
platform feeder near the "pond" and will try some of Leah's peanutbutter
crumble. In the past I have put out mealworms and peanutbutter suet , but
was not able to attract the Bluebirds to that feeder...even tried placing a
small feeder near their nest box with a Bluebird size hole on the end, but
no luck with that either. The Carolina wrens loved the mealworms! I have a
pair of catbirds who like the peanutbutter suet as well as a "poppa"
cardinal feeding his young with it. He also comes to the peanut feeder on
our deck along with the titimice, brown-headed nuthatches, and chickadees.

Again, thank all of you.
