BR Parkway

We spent some time on Sunday morning on the trails leading up to the
Mountains-to-the-Sea Trail from the Tanbark Tunnel near Asheville. It
was a bit quiet but we saw the following:

Worm-eating Warbler
Black-Throated Green W.
Black-Throated Blue W.
Blue-headed & Red-eyed Vireos
Wood Thrush (adult feeding a whining teenager)
Red-Tailed Hawk in the woods

We were surprised that the Hummers were not feeding at the Mt. Mitchell
restaurant and we did not see any Crossbills. We consoled ourselves
with Cappuccino Silk pie - so it was a good day.

A few plants in bloom: Bee Balm, Mountain Mint, Turks Cap and Canada
Lilies, Tall Bellflower, Goldenseal and Clinton's Lilly in berries.
