Jordan Lake shorebirds

Hi,

This morning Steve Perry, Judith Phelps (hope I got correct names, if
not sorry for that!) and me had a nice shorebirds watching north of 751
bridge. There are more and more new mudflats, whereas the other just
dried out already, so situation is changing almost every my visit there.

There were not too many shorebirds (no bad number ether) but some good
species were noted. We also had one juvenile Little Blue Heron.

Black-bellied Plover - 1 ad
Killdeer - 101 (funny number.. read ca 100)
Semipalmated Plover - 4
Greater Yellowlegs - 1
Lesser Yellow. - 7
Solitary Sand. - 1
Spotted Sand. - 13 (some ad still in nice breeding plumage)
Pectoral Sand. - 44 (there are more and more juveniles)
White-rumped Sand. - 2 ad (we had very good view on 1 transitional and
one almost full winter plumage birds, saw them both on the ground and
flying)
Semipalmated Sand. - 17 (there were almost no these guys in the early
morning but flock of 12 just arrived while we were watching
White-rumped)
Least Sand. - 58 (good number of both adults and juveniles)

I am looking forward for some weather change and front passage which may
bring some good staff... or just clean what we have now.
I put second Hummer feeder in hope to have more Hummers feeding and less
fighting. So far they haven't agreed with my intention and there are a
lot of chasing and screaming in front of my window.

Mike
