Correction(?): Black-bellied Plovers

This morning (after the most recent gully washer) at the Super Sod farm
on Hooper Ln. there were 8 Black-bellied Plovers, some in breeding
plumage and some not. These birds were much closer than the Golden
Plovers I reported on May 5, which may have actually been Black-bellies.
This morning's birds clearly showed the white vent and pale head. Sorry
for any grief.

These birds are easy to locate since the French Broad River now laps
against the tractor shed. From Hooper Ln. look for the birds on a small
ridge of mud just left of the shed. If you go, use caution since part
of Hooper Ln. is underwater, hence the High Water signs.
