Cowbirds vs. the World

It's a long slippery slope . . .

I kill:

.\ Brown-headed Cowbirds that are nest parasites
...\ Blue Jays that chase smaller birds from my seed feeders
.....\ Tufted Titmice that occupy my bluebird boxes
.......\ Canada Geese that poop on my lawn
.........\ Northern Mockingbirds that sing at midnight
...........\ Purple Martins that DON'T eat mosquitos
.............\ Downy Woodpeckers that drum on my house
...............\ Northern Cardinals that peck on my window
.................\ Eastern Phoebes that nest on my porch light
...................\ Barred Owls that hoot and scare my kids
.....................\ Gray Catbirds 'cause I don't like cats
.......................\ Eastern Bluebirds that nest in my wren houses
.........................\ Snowy Egrets that have nice hat plumes

How DOES one explain to laypeople reading our cowbird discussion where the line is between a "good' bird and a "bad" bird?

Just wondering . . . .
