Here is my response to Ginger Travis concerning the AZ Condors:
The Condors were in the canyon. We saw one from "only" about a mile away &
after it flew we saw 9 sitting at a distance of several miles..I could
barely make them out at 32X. We were on a field trip with the Cooper
Ornithological Society with the Condor workers as our guides..they had
directional receivers & all of the Condors have radio transmitters.
They said that usually the Condors fly by, very close, at Grand Canyon
Village but that they had just feasted on a mule deer that fell into the
canyon & were inactive.
