Bonner Bridge

Just thought I would make another point about Bonner Bridge since my
company is doing a lot of work out there. Route 12 is by far the most
expensive road in the state of NC for the DOT to maintain, and
eventually the island will be geographically split in half. Pea Island
will be accessible on 12, but 12 will no longer have the funds like it
does now. Also, the biggest support of the Boner Bridge is the Fish and
Wildlife Service because it is the best option for the future of the
outer banks.

Subject: Bonner Bridge, take two

Sorry the computer decided to send the last email
before I was done!

Yes things are going to change if the 17 mile bridge
is built. It will be the safest and most dependable
transportation route to Hatteras Island for the life
of either bridge. If you can't get to Hatteras
Island, you won't even be able to think about enjoying
Pea Island. Accessibility will change if the 17 mile
bridge is built, but Pea Island will not just be shut
off to the public.

Just remember when people make comments about the
"Feds", if they hadn't bought the land and protected
it in the 1930's, Pea Island would be 12 miles of
houses instead of 12 miles of National Wildlife
Refuge! Let's also remember that Pea Island was
established for the protection of birds, and that
should be its priority.

Sincerely,
