Hilton Pond 06/22/03 (Butterfly-weed)

The summer doldrums seem to have arrived as far as birds are concerned, but nature hasn't given up on finding new ways to impress us--such as when were we bicycling this week and came across a splendid patch of Butterfly-weed not far from Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History.

For a photo essay about this sun-loving native wildflower and its pollinators, please visit "This Week at Hilton Pond" for the period 22-31 June 2003 at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030622.html .

As always, there's an account of all birds banded and recaptured during the period.

Happy Nature Watching!
