I am new to the carolinabirds mailing list and have been enjoying the service
very much over the few weeks I have been receiving messages. I was hiking on
the foothills trail earlier this week between Sassafras Mt. and Caesar's Head
(close to the N.C./S.C. border) and did not experience much bird activity,
attributable in part I am sure to the severely dry conditions. However, I
was able to identify two new warblers (I am fairly new to bird watching). I
saw several Ovenbirds and a male and female Black-throated Blue Warbler. The
male BBW was quite striking.
