First trickle of warblers?

I stopped by Ritter Park in Cary at lunch (it's such a beautiful, cool
afternoon!) to see if any fall migrants might be hanging around. The
resident chickadee flock included 2 warblers, an Ovenbird and a beautiful
male Prothonotary Warbler. It was kinda strange to see the Prothonotary
feeding in the tops of the trees! I'm so used to seeing them about eye
level in a swamp somewhere. Hopefully the front will move through and
bring some more goodies tomorrow!

We returned yesterday from a week in Nevada and California. The birding
was pretty good, we even found two individuals, a Sora and a Northern
Waterthrush, that are, or will be put, on the southern Nevada RBA. These
two birds plus the locally quite rare Red-shouldered Hawk made Desert NWR
feel almost like home (Except of course for the creosote bush, Joshua
Trees and jackrabbits!)
If anyone wants details or recommendations for birding spots please let me
know. I can fill you in on Las Vegas (including Desert NWR), Mono Lake,
and Yosemite.
