Van Atkins, Giff Beaton and I went to the sod farm near Orangeburg this morning - arrived about 9:30.  Nothing spectacular.  It was mostly dry there and I was suprised by how many roads are no longer passable or are blocked off. Sightings as follows:
E. Meadowlark             6
Horned Lark                 3
Pectoral Sandpiper     100+
Killdeer                          200 - est.
G. Golden Plover         1
C. Snipe                        2
Upland Sandpiper       3
G. Yellowlegs               1
N. Harrier                      2
A. Crow                         10+
E. Starling                      Lots
Tree Swallow                50+
Barn Swallow                25+
L. Shrike                         2
E. Kingbird                      5
Blue Grosbeak               1
Most of the birds had disappeared by about 11:00 and there was heavy activity by workers in the fields.
