Dennis damage in Chatham Co., NC

Just had to report, that exactly 3 years later after
it had survived Fran, the great dead pine that has
housed our red-bellied family (since fran took their
last home tree)
hit the house at 11:45 pm sounding like an explosion
as it busted out a window into thousands of tiny
pieces onto the stairwell and splitting apart and
crushing the hvac outdoor units.
It took Chris and I over two hours to clean up, Duke
the cat was really scared- but the real sadness is
over the loss of the magnificent tree. When it
survived Fran, when so many others did not, I thought
maybe it was indestructible. But Not so. THere are no
more good housing units within sight of the house.
I did see the female on the suet this morning. We are
still keeping our eyes open for the juvenile and the
male.
