This evening, while I was home briefly before heading out to a meeting, I
spotted a female rose-breasted grosbeak at my feeders in the backyard. I
spent several minutes watching it through my binoculars to be certain I
hadn't made a mistake in my id. The grosbeak was a new yard and life-list
bird for me.
A flock of 10 cowbirds also came to visit. I could do without them. I saw
one hummingbird yesterday and one today. Whether this is (are) the bird(s)
that I saw daily most of August and into this month, I don't know.
