snow bunting @ Ebenezer Park

Greetings!
Yesterday (12/28) I did have success finding the snow bunting near Rock
Hill, SC. Or, perhaps I should say the bunting found me. As soon as I got
out of my car, the bird flew into view and landed on top of the restroom
facilities, then flew down and lit on the fence not 15 ft. away from me to
check me out! I birded the part from 9am-10:15am; all the while the bird
remained active, flying around the parking lot. Also hanging around the
area was an immature hawk, a red-tailed, I believe; he sat quite a while on
the dock while crows bounced around him, then went over into the woods.

Other birds of interest:

Common loon! - 1
Horned Grebe! - 2
Bonapartes Gull (I believe, as they were off in the distance; much smaller
than the ring-billed gulls they were with) - 20
coot - 5
mallard - 5
r.c. kinglet - 1
yellow-rumped warblers - 5
Eastern Bluebird - 2
House Finch - 8
Gold Finch - 8
etc.

Thanks to whomever found and reported the bunting--I enjoyed :-) !

Here are the fine directions offered by Bill Sugg:

To find Ebenezer Park, take I-77 south to exit 82. Exit and continue West on
SC 161 until you reach Mt. Gallant Road. It's around a mile. Turn right.
(The
signs are kind of messed up at this intersection. The road you turn on to is
supposed to be SC 195, but I don't recall seeing that number anywhere.)

Four miles or so from that intersection is a sign leading you to the
Ebenezer
Park/Landing. Turn right and you are almost there.

There are two parking lots--one for the picnic area and the other for boat
launches. Go to the picnic lot.
