One 1/8/2000, Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission (with =
the Honorable John Cottingham at the helm and led by Birder =
Extraordinaire Dr. Dennis Forsythe) conducted a birding trip to Savannah =
NWR. Here are the results (didn't do counts):

John told us of Fox Sparrow sightings at Caw Caw in Ravenel, SC but time =
didn't permit us going there to see them. We also had a brief moment of =
excitement as Dr. Dennis (who actually ran to get a better look) thought =
he spotted a Cinnamon Teal in the air. John and I also got partial =
looks at the birds (white wing patches-not blue or green) but alas we =
just didn't get enough of a good look to make the call.
All in all, a good taste of things to come for the CBC Winter Meeting in =
Beaufort, SC. Good birding everyone.
