Lincoln's sparrow

Got a good look at a Lincoln's sparrow, Mon. 2/7, at Beaver Lake, in
Asheville, NC. Tried again today, Wed. 2/9, and got a "maybe". Saw a
skulker in the same spot but couldn't get a positive I.D.
Beaver Lake is located off N. Merrimon. From the parking lot, facing the
kiosk, follow the trail to the left next to a small pond. Trail leads to a
boardwalk. Follow the boardwalk a few hundred feet. Here, the main bw goes
right and a short section extends to the lake. In this corner, between the
bws and the lake is a low area with a couple of dense brambles. This is the
area where I saw the bird Mon. and the same place I saw the "suspect"
today.
P.S. Had a saw whet in the woods near my house, Monday night; just w of
Waynesville, off 19/23, in the Balsam Gap area.
