Rufous, et al

Hello y'all,
The little guy's still here, looking more sporty every day. Had 6 Tree
Swallows headed NW this a.m. An itty-bitty Sharpie has been lurking about
since last week, thinning the ranks of the goldfinches, no doubt.
With regard to birds and weather, I saw no kinglets or yellow-rumps in
our yard for 10 days following the 1/25 snowstorm. They did return in force,
however. Maybe they had a hard time getting through the goldfinches. Or the
hummer was flexing his muscles. Hey, there's a thought; that might explain
the yellow-rump disguising itself as a sparrow. The hummer pays no mind to
them. Hmmm...
Another note; Nov. 98 was last sighting for GCKI for fall/winter 98/99
here. For fall/winter 99/00 they've been consistently heard/observed.

Cheers,
GP
