Now there're two Screechers

For the past three years in late winter and early spring, Cynthia and I have
been fortunate to have a Screech Owl roosting in a cavity of an old locust
tree just 20 feet from our driveway. Last week after dark we heard very
quiet, weird sounds coming from the roost tree, possibly made by two birds.
Then yesterday, coming back from the dusk dog walk, we saw two screechers in
the tree--one in the entrance to the regular hole, and another in the
entrance to a hole just a few feet above and about 90 degrees away from the
first. Both owls were there again this morning. Both are grey phase, by the
way. We're crossing our fingers!
