A quick posting before I swing by the lake this morning, 4/26.
Yesterday: common loon (20+/- almost all in breeding plumage), pied-billed
grebe (2), dc cormorant (1), green-backed heron (nesting), Am. widgeon (2),
blue-winged teal (6), n.shoveler (3) redhead (1 female, injured, has been
there all winter), ring-necked duck (1), bufflehead (1), spotted sandpiper
(3), ring-billed gull (4+/-), herring gull (8+/-); swallows- numerous tree,
barn, & n. rough-wing.
Of course, a host of common passerines, bluebird, robin, song sparrow, etc.
nothing unusual.
