Conway Sewage Ponds & New Road




Hi Carolinabirders,
	Today I birded solo at New Road and the nearby Conway Sewage Ponds in
mid-morning. Thirty-four species including some returning shorebirds.

Double-crested Cormorant-2 adult and immature
Great Blue Heron-1
Little Blue Heron-5 2 adults and 3 white immatures
Green Heron-2
Wood Duck-9 2 adult males rest immatures possibly one female
Red-shouldered Hawk-1 adult overhead
Red-tailed Hawk-1 heard only
Killdeer-1
Spotted Sandpiper-1 still in breeding plumage
Semipalmated Sandpiper-2 in with the Leasts nice back contrast.
Least Sandpiper-17 presumably adults at this date, some had noticeable
yellowish buff line across back.

Red-headed Woodpecker-1 adult
Red-bellied Woodpecker-2
Downy Woodpecker-3
Purple Martin-1

Blue Jay-2 heard only

Yellow-throated Warbler-1 distant singing
Common Yellowthroat-3 heard only
Summer Tanager-1 heard only and one faded male
