I had a chance to stop briefly at Parksville, SC on Clarks Hill (Thurmond) Lake yesterday afternoon. I managed to ID 7 species of shorebirds (excluding Killdeer) while holding an umbrella and trying to keep my scope and myself dry. Here's my list:
1 Semipalmated Plover
1 Ruddy Turnstone (still in breeding plumage)
1 Greater Yellowlegs
1 Pectoral Sandpiper
11 Semipalmated Sandpipers
2 Least Sandpipers
1 White-rumped Sandpiper
