Friday we had a female rubythroated hummingbird feeding of bog salvia
(Salvia uliginosa) in our garden. I was struck by the fact that the entire
top of its head was a cloudy-white color.
I don't think that it was the spot of white on the forehead. Does my
observation match what was noted as the result of feeding from sapsucker
drill holes?
