I birded the causeway at Lake Mattamuskeet for about an hour this morning,
13 October.
Best finds were 1 Nashville Warbler (near the observation platform near the
middle of the causeway) and 1 Wilson's Warbler (almost at the beginning of
the entrance road to the refuge office).
Happily, Myrtle Warblers were not overwhelming. 3 warbler species
outnumbered the Myrtles: American Redstart, Northern Parula, and Palm
Warbler.
The wind was northerly, and there was an obvious movement of birds northward
along the causeway.
An adult Bald Eagle flew over my head.
