Brickhouse Rd.

Went to Brickhouse Rd. impoundment in Durham on Sunday AM. It was a
veritable red-headed woodpecker convention. There were at least 20 noisy,
active ones, mostly immatures. The rest of the woodpecker sp. were there in
smaller numbers. Not to be outdone, zillions of sparrows weighed
in...mostly white-throated, along with flocks of robins, grackles, some
rusty blackbirds, etc. Several winter wrens held down the forest floor,
juncos were well represented, and the typical residents rounded out the
cacophony.
