A Swallow-tailed Kite and a Mississippi Kite were sighted this morning, 12
May 2001, over the Roanoke River by John Wright while he was participating
in the Cereulean Warbler survey. The kites were in the Ventosa Plantation
area near Norfleet, Halifax County, NC. This is the area near Scotland
Neck, NC where birders often look for Mississippi Kites. I do not have the
Delorme road atlas handy, or I would give more specific directions to the
area.
