Warbling Vireo on nest at Anilorac Farm

We went to Anilorac Farm on Dairyland Road on Sunday evening May 13 to check
out the Warbling Vireos. We noticed one fly into the middle tree in the
front yard and managed to get it in our scope. It was sitting on a nest!
The carefully-built round nest, about 6 to 7 inches in diameter, seemed to
be built of many types of material, including different types of grasses and
what seemed to be bits of string. The bird sat on top of the nest, and we
could see its tail on one side and its head occasionally sticking out in
full view on the other side. We had a wonderful view of it warbling while
sitting on the nest. Was this the male or the female? We spotted the bird
on the nest at about 5:45 p.m., and it was still sitting there one hour
later. The nest was in the middle tree, about half way up on the right side
toward the outer end of a bunch of branches toward the front of the tree, in
good view from the road, but at first difficult to find.

We also enjoyed the ice cream later on at Maple View Farm!
