Saw this on the Western Massachusetts Rare Bird Alert. I know it's not in
the Carolinas, but it's just too cool let pass:
>An unusual event that has been reported in the ornithological record
>but is rarely seen was witnessed by a birder at the UMass Farm in
>Hadley on Sunday. An AMERICAN WOODCOCK was seen moving one of her
>young by carrying it between her feet. The bird flew about two feet
>off the ground and moved the young bird a distance of about 15 feet.
