Ospreys nesting in the Carolinas

Greetings Cbirders,
I'm working on the Osprey species account for the Birds of
North America Project and thought the users of this listserv would
collectively have a pretty good feel for what's going on in the
states with Osprey breeding. I know the Charlotte region's population
is increasing around Lake Norman and downstream from it. I've seen an
adult where 85 crosses the Yadkin PeeDee and one up over Whitesides
(in breeding season long after migrants would be moving through).
Where do y'all know about nesting pairs? Any feel for population
trends?
While I'm on the subject, we trapped and tagged an adult
female Osprey at the Clariant Plant along the Catawba just east of
Mt. Holly last week. You'll be able to follow her travels on the
Carolina Raptor Center webpage later this summer when she starts to
move.

	Thanks,
