Given that Cardinals are red and that Hummers are notoriously attracted to
red, one might presume that this is not that rare an event. First time
I've ever heard of it, though.
Seed-eating birds feeding young are well-known to switch over to insects at
this time of year. Nothing like insects to supply the protein those
growing mouths demand. Unless maybe it's a Hummer!
