Hilton Pond 07/22/01 (WHITE Hummingbird)

HI . . .

On 27 July 2001 we ventured 30 miles south of Hilton Pond Center for
Piedmont Natural History to observe, capture, and band a rare WHITE
Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

"This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 22-28 July includes
several close-up photographs of this unusual hummer at
http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek010722.html. This is a direct
link, but please feel free to browse the rest of the Web site. :-)

As always, there's an update with photos of birds banded and/or
recaptured this week, including a comparative photo of the tail of a
normal female Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Happy Nature Watching,

BILL
