Another very entertaining day at the north end of Lake Don T. Howell. I was
there from about 9:00-11:30 am 8/19/01. Birds were not very plentiful but
there was a nice variety, with a few new birds for the fall migration here.

Baird's Sandpiper-2
Semipalmated Sandpiper-12
Pectoral Sandpiper-6
Least Sandpiper?
Spotted Sandpiper-1
Solitary Sandpiper-2
Long billed Dowitcher-1-very nice breeding plumage+flight call, it was in the
isolated stretch of water on the Shimpock Rd. side of HW.136(drive up
Shimpock about 500 ft. and look through the trees)

Great Blue Heron-3
Snowy Egret-2
