The CURLEW SANDPIPER was still present today, spotted around 5PM in the
first salt pond after the dried out pond (enter at Utility Pole #38, just
north of the Pea Island north dyke). For the most part he was belly deep in
water. Belly and flanks still show some color. Stilt sandpipers,
dowitchers, marbled godwits, pectorals, and black terns were also present,
as well as one black-bellied plover. It took us over and hour to locate
this bird among the three ponds.
