Lori and I went birding at Glenn Hilton Park in Hickory this afternoon. We
found a couple of pretty good mixed flocks. Warblers seen were
GOLDEN-WINGED, Chestnut-sided, American Redstart, Tennessee, and Magnolia.
Other migrants seen were White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireos, Empidonax Species,
Eastern Wood-Pewee, Broad-winged Hawk, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, and 32 Common Nighthawks. Don't forget our bird walk is this
Saturday and we should have even more migrants with the expected cold
fronts.
