It never fails to amaze me what a bird-attractor the north end of Lake Don
T. Howell (Coddle Creek Reservoir) is. At noon today there was a Louisiana
Waterthrush in the rocky scrub S of the bridge, on the E side of the channel
between the road and the pumphouse paraphernalia, along with Common
Yellowthroat males and females. Most everything observed there yesterday
was still there today, except for the Godwits. Black Vultures,
Red-shouldered and Red-tailed Hawks, and Coopers Hawk were also seen (and
heard, except for the vultures) today.
