HI . . .
Casar, North Carolina, is currently home to an unusual species--a
female Rufous Hummingbird far from her normal wintering grounds in
central Mexico
For photos of and an essay about this amazing little pile of
feathers, check out "This Week at Hilton Pond" for 1-7 November 2001
at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek011101.html . This is a direct
link, but feel free to browse the rest of the Web site. :-)
As always, there are weekly totals for banded and recaptured birds,
including some rather elderly Northern Cardinals.
Thanks for forwarding last week's Hilton Pond message to other folks
interested in natural history; if you're so inclined, please do it
again. :-)
Peace, and Happy Nature Watching,
BILL
