I got some decent shots of the Snowy Owl yesterday at Bald Head Island
(Brunswick Co., NC):

These were taken with a Nikon CoolPix 995 through a Kowa TSN-824
(handheld).
It was about a mile south of the last point you can drive to from Fort
Fisher, sitting about 100 yards back towards the sound. You can walk
here, as Keith Camburn did yesterday, but it's 5 miles and takes about
2.5 hours.
