HI . . .
The first Purple Finch of the season arrived at Hilton Pond Center
for Piedmont Natural History on the 14th. There's a photo of it under
"This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 8-14 December, along with
a list of all newly banded and recaptured birds.
The weekly photo essay is about an invasion of Pear-shaped Puffballs
and the rather unusual derivation of their scientific name. To access
all this neat stuff, see
http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek011208.html . :-)
Thanks, as always, for visiting our Hilton Pond Web site, and please
forward this e-mail to folks you know who are interested in nature
topics.
Happy Nature Watching,
BILL
