C'Birders,
I visited this large Haywood County lake today and observed the
following more interesting species among the many waterfowl present:
Hooded Merganser--- 2 males
Green-winged Teal--2 males, one female
Ring-necked Duck- a mixed raft of 13
Lesser Scaup - one male seen at close range
DC Cormorants 3-4
Blue phase Snow Goose seen closely among a large assembly of Canadas
Pied-billed Grebes 3
Ringed-billed Gulls 5
Almost always present at the Lake are Black and Mute Swans, and a
variety of other miscellaneous waterfowl, whose ancestry is
questionable.
