Lincoln's Sparrows are one of the LEAST common sparrows we band at
Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History, so we were pleased
this week to capture one for what turned out to be an elegant
portrait.
For photos and an essay about this secretive and seldom-seen sparrow
species, just click on http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek021101.html
for the 1-7 November 2002 installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond."
As always, there are lists of the week's banded species and
recaptured birds--including two new species for the year--plus a mug
shot of a diminutive Winter Wren.
Please forward this message to others who are interested in nature
and birds. They can get a free weekly reminder for "This Week at
Hilton Pond" by sending a blank e-mail to mailto:info@hiltonpond.org
with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line.
Happy Nature Watching,
BILL
