Hilton Pond 12/15/02 (Christmas Bird Count)

The York/Rock Hill Christmas Bird Count is the topic for "This Week at Hilton Pond" for 15-21 December 2002.

The 12th annual count produced few surprises but did tally all-time highs for several species. Details and the count totals are at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek021215.html . There's also a link to an article about the York/Rock Hill count that appeared in the 22 December edition of The Charlotte Observer.

As always, there's a list of the week's banded birds--plus recaptures--and a mug shot of the 42,000th bird banded at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History since 1982.

Please forward this message to others who are interested in nature and birds. They can get a free weekly reminder for "This Week at Hilton Pond" by sending a blank e-mail to mailto:info@hiltonpond.org with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line.
