The following are highlights of the 3 hour birdwalk at Charleston County's
Caw Caw Park in Ravenel, SC led by Perry Nugent at 8:30 am. For more
information about these birdwalks, type www.ccprc.com on your computer ,then
click on Interpretive Center and then birding highlights.
January 4, 2003
58 species were seen and/or heard. The most interesting were; 1 Anhinga, 1
adult Bald Eagle on nest incubating?,1 Brown Creeper, 2 House Wrens, 3 Marsh
Wrens, 5 Golden-crowned Kinglets, 1 hermit Thrush, 3 White-eyed Vireos, 5
Blue-headed Vireos, 3 Orange-crowned Warblers, 6 Pine Warblers, and 1
Black-and-white Warbler.
We also saw two Otters mating.
