Hilton Pond 1/15/03 (Bark Quiz Answers)

The current installment of "This Week at Hilton Pond" includes the much-anticipated answers for last week's "Tree Bark Baffler #1." If you want to go back to last week's essay to try the quiz again before peeking at the answers, click first on http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030108.html .

When you're ready, go to http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek030115.html for the week of 15-21 January 2003 to see how well you identified bark from six native North American trees that grow at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History. You'll also find out if anyone identified all six correctly and won the coveted Operation RubyThroat T-shirt.

As always, there's a list of birds banded during the period. And, once again this week, there's an interesting set of returns of banded American Goldfinches--plus a cluster of "old" Chipping Sparrows that have been to Hilton Pond before.

Please forward this message to others who are interested in nature and birds. Anyone can get a free weekly reminder for "This Week at Hilton Pond" by sending a blank e-mail to mailto:info@hiltonpond.org with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line.
