Today about 5:30 PM I located the Ross's Goose with a flock of Canadas
on a small pond on the west side of Dodson's Crossroad, just north of
the (currently unmarked) intersection with Arthur Minnis Rd. This is
the west end of the unpaved section of Arthur Minnis.
This pond is also in the back yard of a house. Please show respect for
private property if you visit the site. The view from the roadside is
excellent.
I actually noticed that there were geese on this pond last night at dusk
as I rushed past on my way to view a nearly goose-less pond at Anilorac
Farm. I also noticed that they appeared to be all gone this morning
about 7:30 as I passed by on my way to view a nearly goose-less pond at
Anilorac Farm. So it's possible that this is the flock's regular
overnight location but they arrive late and leave first thing in the
morning.
