I wonder about the "Chimney Swift" on the list of species observed at Morrow
Mountain State Park, NC in late February. This is at least a month too early
for this species. There probably are no Chimney Swifts anywhere in North
America before the middle of March. If someone actually did see a small,
dark swift it is much more likely to be Vaux's Swift than Chimney Swift. If
this bird is being seen on a regular basis then we need to check it out!
