This morning I drove from Fayetteville north to Raven Rock State
Park west of Lillington, NC. I did some birding along the way both
coming and going. At Raven Rock I walked about 3 miles, watching and
listening for birds. My best birds were kestrels on the road into
the park and a hermit thrush inside the park. I did have five
woodpeckers--pileated, downy, yellow-bellied sapsucker, red-bellied
and flicker.
